Get Animated with ASIFA-SF

ASIFA-San Francisco is the oldest and foremost local organization for the animation community, with over 300 members around the Bay Area. ASIFA-SF is on the move to provide its members with more opportunities to network, expand their knowledge base, and just have fun--- with fellow animation fans, friends, and professionals. Now ASIFA is offering a special rate for Corporate memberships.

This plan will provide you with 10 (or more) copies of our monthly newsletter mailed to your company’s address. It also entitles you to 10 (or more) spaces at members’ only events (members may also bring guests). ASIFA-SF also holds exclusive, members-only parties, receptions and/or screenings throughout the year. In 2007 our members-only events have included receptions for Belgian composer Nic Phelps who writes music for animated shorts, animator Dyuan Jia of the Beijing Film Academy and UPA/Terrytoon veteran Gene Deitch.

We also offered preview screenings of Shrek 3, Bee Movie and Beowulf, and a screening of Oscar-nominated animated shorts (including some of their creators.) You can also expect invites to Ron Diamond’s annual 35mm show of outstanding short films, 35mm screenings of features in consideration for Academy Awards, and our private Twelfth Night Party next January.

Your support helps us to provide numerous free events to the Bay Area animation community. We average 15 events a year, including tributes to animators, open screenings, an annual “Careers in Animation” program, screenings of award-winning work and much more. We hope to present our first annual Prescott Wright Memorial Lecture this fall (Prescott was a founder of our chapter.)

To develop better relationships with local corporations, ASIFA-SF has developed a basic membership plan that offers a 20% discount on our already low local membership rate. For $200 your corporation will get 10 memberships (our individual membership rate is $25 a person). Additional memberships can be purchased at $20 each.

Your membership will help us with our plans to improve our website (www.asifa-sf.org) and to develop additional programs for members and the public. To make this membership plan work, we ask two things: First, please make your payment by check (and not Pay Pal) to spare us extra paperwork and their processing fee. Second, we ask that all newsletters be delivered to a single address to conserve postage and handling. Each copy can be individually named for your mailroom to distribute.
